April 2011

The last 12 months have been wonderful and I've enjoyed meeting so many new clients and their dogs. A big increase in the number of Cavapoos and Cockerpoos this year - all so cute! I now have two part time helpers keeping me company and helping me to look after all of them. I'd like to mention two dogs in particular Wiggy a Bedlington Terrier and Charlie a Bichon Frise - they helped me to receive a distinction in some advanced grooming exams. I believe that there is always something new to learn with dog grooming and it's important to me to keep up with the latest techniques and trends. I've attended several seminars in the last 12 months all over the country all with the aim of improving my skills and intend to continue to do so.

April 2010

I'm now the proud owner of my three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - Bobby, Barney and Pippa along with my 8 month old puppy called Dougal - he's a Hungarian Puli.

Dougal joined us in December 2009 and thanks to so many of my lovely clients and their dogs he has become a wonderfully friendly socialised little dog who loves welcoming everybody.

I am the owner of three rescue cavaliers and am a fosterer for a rescue based in South Wales!  This rescue takes in ex breeding dogs that have never lived in homes and so many of them are extremely nervous of new surroundings.  I have fostered various breeds for them and decided rather than send them to the groomers I would train to become one myself. After succesfully completing various course I opened Maxine's Caring Dog Groomers and haven't looked back since.

My experience in dealing with very nervous dogs makes me determined to ensure that any dog who comes to me for grooming is treated with the utmost care, respect and attention and I will do everything I can to ensure your dog is happy and not stressed out by the experience.
